After completing his seminary training, he was ordained as an Elder in August, 1990 by the late Pastor Charles W. Smith, Sr. and by the United Holy Church of America in 1992.

After the passing of his father, Reverend Smith, Sr., Pastor Smith once again followed the call of the Lord and returned to Bridgeville, where he was installed as the Senior Pastor of the Williams Chapel Church in July, 2001. As a man of God, Pastor Smith is a firm believer in the laying of hands on the sick, deliverance of the captive, and worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth.
